The Squid and the Whale 2005
This film is endlessly rewatchable. The pettiness of Bernard, and Walt’s failed attempts at imitation, are incredibly hilarious, yet sad and seemingly authentic.
One of the few movies I can rewatch a couple of times a year.

Oppenheimer 2023
Oh Oppie! Why’d’ya have to do it 😞 😔 😞😢😢
Guy sitting next to me very audibly sighed when they announced JFK as one of the abstainers. Lol 🤷♀️

The Silence of the Lambs 1991
Yeah, this one is just great on so many levels… the Hannibal character is really one of the great American characters that I think an argument could be made that he is a microcosm of the true state of the “American Dream” or maybe he’s just a cool cannibal who’s name rhymes with what he is.

The Player 1992
One of my favorite parts— of which there are many— is when Griffin walks on the lawn and looks into the window of his supposed stalker while talking to her over the phone… technically very creepy and borderline psychotic.

Blade Runner 1982
I can think of worse ways to die than with my face between Daryl Hannah’s legs.
Was going to be a 4.5 but, after doing my own research, all the science checks out… so 5. -

Boogie Nights 1997
If you only watch the first half you’re missing out! Not on a nekked heather Graham but a very good, very cautionary film

20th Century Women 2016
I’ve seen this like 5 times and I never rewatch movies… It’s a masterpiece (term used ironically). Mike Mills is to movies what Hank Hill is to propane and propane accessories; what Roger Goodell is to boo’s; what Prince is to purple; what porn is to porn; what fences are to neighbors, etc.

The Big Lebowski 1998
I guess this viewing was done with a drinking game… the only aspect I understood of the game was I should drink when I’m told to. Yes, I’m around 35 or so.

Nomadland 2020
“I only know what they tell me” is the greatest line I’ve heard in a movie all year and has been rattling in my brain for months.
I’ve watched this twice and haven’t written a review because I didn’t want to build up any preconceived notions for anyone who hasn’t seen it. But, at this point, I have to log it— I have to!
