Still a little early to make this call for certain, but…might just be my favorite Studio Ghibli film thus far?!

Hard for me to believe since I loved Kiki’s Delivery Service so much that I doubted that anything could possibly top it. And although that film’s message really resonated with me m, there’s no denying that this one captivated me the most. Didn’t expect it to be as dark as it was in a lot of respects, but only admire it even more for it.

Goes without saying, but once again it’s another film from Miyazaki that’s absolutely stunning from start to finish. Not to mention the music here is especially fantastic. Could seriously just listen to the score on repeat for hours.
