Significantly funnier the second time around
A sticky, Mountain Dew-stained coming-of-age film crawling with flies and gnats. An overly-long roadtrip crammed in a 1:1.33 frame with people you likely wouldn't want to associate yourself with. Shaky camera, raunchy rap music, used tampons, flame-lit masturbation...And I loved every second of it. AMERICAN HONEY is stunning, inspiring, and full of electricity. Wow.

A buttery, lavish indulgence blanketed in lace and some of Jonny Greenwood's best work. Refreshing to see PTA explore mother issues over father issues, especially in such a delicately haunting manner.
THERE WILL BE BLOOD was a turning point for PTA as he began to abandon his flashy filmmaking in favor of confident solidity. There are still echoes of early PTA in TWBB, but THE MASTER really started a new stylistic era for the filmmaker.…
