    Liked this more the first time I saw it. Some very odd choices made and some character's seemed to change for this film. But Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz are still fun and charismatic enough to keep this from being too bad.

The context surrounding this film, both the little Herzog had to work with and the difficulty on everyone involved in actually making this, adds another layer to the madness on display. From the opening sequence of descending below the clouds, to the final moments of Aguirre speaking to monkeys and dead men, this was spellbinding.
