The feminine urge to compulsively re-watch Ishtar

I cannot get these Rogers and Clarke songs out of my head. It's a brain worm, a disease.
While washing dishes I hear echoes of "baby (baby), love you (love you), baby (baby)"
As I fold laundry I mentally wrestle with stopping "there's a wardrobe of love in my eyes, look around and see if there's something your size" from leaving my lips

Love to see Czechs having so much fun at the kino experimenting with all kinds of light, color, and perspective tricks so early on. The Kolaloka premise sounds like a parody that could have been written today, and the humor is so whip smart. I forgot arthouse could be so fun, I've been stuck in such a rut of self-serious films lately.

Hot damn this jacked up zoot suit & prosthetic colorgasm is what comic book movies should look like! Bring me the head of Christopher Nolan!!

The story itself and It's pacing need some work (thankfully Beatty didn't get his 135 min cut), but the sets, characters, and cinematography are perfect.

Excuse me while I dial the 1-800-CALL-CIA number I found in the Yellow Pages to discuss murder and oil conspiracies with the central intelligence department chief
