Korean cinema raised the bar for revenge-thrillers.
It's my favorite genre, I can't help but compare.
I watched this after Bong Joon Ho's recommendation. I like it, I'll definitely check Yoon Ga-eun's other films out.
I knew that this is going to be very personal to me from the moment I saw the first scene. I had to sit down and think about my life after seeing this.
I don't think the main message of this movie is about how bullying is wrong and how children can be very cruel to each other.
I first heard of this movie from PewDiePie, I have watched two films(including this) that he recommended. The other movie being Woman in the Dunes. So far, both of these movies are in my All Time Favorites List. The guy has got good taste.
This is made by someone who hasn't let go of their inner child-like wonder and creativity. Someone who isn't afraid of making mistakes.
