    Basquiat

    ★★½

This film has been on my watchlist since forever ago. Did I even have this on VCD? Damn.. don’t remember since I’ve burnt them all. Anyway, BASQUIAT has so much potential. Great cast assembly: Wright, Bowie, Hopper, Oldman, Love, Posey, Rockwell. Too bad the film lacks of that 80s energy. It’s like an old man trying so hard to reach the finish line though it’s only an 100-m race.

    A remake, please

You just don’t wanna miss Steve Carrell in any movie he’s in, do you? He’s good as always. Though the son-dad relationship fallout feels repetitive, I enjoy the soundtrack a lot.

When was the last time you see a decent Indonesian horror? Gosh.. I know. It’s been a while. Finally, the good one just arrived. What makes ‘Pengabdi Setan’ so intense though?

    1. The uneasy feeling throughout the film
    2. The music!
    3. The story (though we need to know more about ‘the cult’)
    4. Unnecessary jokes don’t exist or very minimal
    5. The ______ looks so natural & that makes it so damn scary
    6. The actors! You guys are great…

    The Seen and Unseen

    ★★★½

    Feeling is mutual

Seeing 'The Seen and Unseen' is more about an once-in-a-lifetime experience. Trying to understand it thoroughly may make you suffer. Trying to 'feel' it, however, may let you reflect on the core beauty of a family relationship.
