This was my first time seeing a Pedro Almodóvar film and it did not disappoint. Many have compared it to Federico Fellini's 8½, which I haven't seen, but for me it reminded me of Paolo Sorrentino's The Great Beauty, not in its style but rather in its themes. Excellent performances, particularly from Antonio Banderas (who delivers some of his finest work in years), Penélope Cruz and Asier Etxeandia. And I won't spoil it but I must mention that the ending is *brilliant* and totally unexpected. Overall, I highly recommend it.
