All My Sons

All My Sons ★★★

Film Forum - 35mm

Eddie G really puts this movie on his shoulders and doesn't take it off until the very end (ended 1 scene too late, like most plays). Excellent lighting by Russell Metty. Based on a Miller play, of course but it was interesting to see Elia Kazan and Harold Clurman in the opening credits since both may have done a better job directing this. The story is a little dated but the performances (mostly) were not. I like the doctor neighbor and Howard Duff as the pissed off brother as well as his former flame the mother of 3 and married to a moron next door.

Overall pretty good but did anyone else notice that Louisa Horton kissed The G Man more than she kissed Burt despite them being a couple in the film.
