"I am putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do"
Screened for Falmouth Film Society Presents - Week 9
Undoubtedly one of the greatest films ever made, arrogant and patronising in places but it's the sheer scale and magnitude of what Kubrick actually accomplishes in the space of 149 minutes. Starting with the dawn of man-kind and finishing with something new entirely, it's the simplicity that excels Kubrick's work. Weaving two stories together, one of evolution and the second a tale of Artificial Intelligence it's this aspect that really creates conversation, leaving many questions still to be answered yes but it seems only right with the sheer magnitude and complexity of what the viewer believes.
