Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone ★★★

Warner Bros. Blu-Ray

A decent enough start for the franchise but with extremely poor CGI, weak script, poor chemistry and bad delivery from its child actors, it leaves a lot to be desired. It's fun, enjoyable and has great merit but it lacks in most every department. Maggie Smith and Alan Rickman steal the show throughout taking most of the thunder from the famous trio. It's too light hearted, warm and fuzzy throughout and doesn't really touch the dark void not filled until it's second entry. As much as Columbus has a great track record I feel his aesthetic and vision for Potter was a little off even though it laid a great track down.
