Jakob’s review published on Letterboxd:
Death by zombie tiger. Revenant style. Oh yeah!
The opening sequence and credits of the film are absolutely fantastic!!!
+ in like the very first minute there are two blue lights in the sky, moving very fast: Aliens. That‘s so awesome!
I fell asleep at some points, cause the film is super long and it was in the middle of the night.
After the amazing first 15 minutes the film drags a bit, but when they finally get into Las Vegas, it‘s awesome!
I love the concept of a heist in zombie Las Vegas!
The zombie queen was great, especially the head!
And the zombie tiger Revenant scene was the best in the entire film!
It‘s also fucking great how they incorporated Tig Notaro! She never met the rest of the cast and was digitally inserted, but you‘d never notice! Just very organic interactions.
Dieter is the most stereotypical german name they could have possibly given Matthias Schweighöfer‘s character.
Zack Synder should do even more zombie stuff!
And thank God that Netflix let him do what he wanted to do... (talking to you, Warner Bros)
The only thing I really disliked was the super blurry, shallow focus they use throughout the entire film. That was not it.
