I have recently taken it upon myself to write an article looking over Pablo Larraín's filmmaking career in response to a rather divided opinion on his most recent masterwork, EMA. While it seems most viewers agree it is a visually rich kaleidoscope of colours and symbolic imagery, a good chunk of the audience might have not connected with Larraín's allegorical philosophy, especially because he is known for not holding anyone's hand and expecting the viewer to keep up with his pace.
