Much better than I was expecting.

They had a theatrical release of the 4K restoration of this. I had not seen it yet and I'm very happy that this is how I got to experience it.

Re-watched this today and it was very enjoyable again.

    The Art of Self-Defense

This was great. I went in with high hopes and wasn't disappointed. The unfiltered and emotionless style of dialogue was really unique and funny.

This was great. It's pretty much just beautiful surf footage paired with a great original score from start to finish. I was hoping for a more words and personality from the surfers and musicians in it but even without that I enjoyed this a lot.

    Echo in the Canyon

I enjoyed this a lot. It might be unrealistically romanticizing the LA music scene of that time but it was really fun to watch and I'm probably going to be listening to late 60s music all week now.

I'm walking home from the theater now and still trying to collect my thoughts on it, but overall I really enjoyed this. It looked good and sounded good and held my interest all the way through.

I think it will take a few days for me to have strong opinions about the ending…

  • Greta

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

This is my first Letterboxd review. This movie surprised me so much that I haven't been able to stop thinking about it and feel compelled to write down my thoughts on it.

I went into Greta knowing only the title and that the genre was "Drama", according to the AMC Theatres app. I had no idea that it was actually a thriller, so the shift from drama to kind-of-unsettling-drama to very-unsettling-suspenseful-thriller was a complete shock for me. That unexpected genre…
