Fuuuuuuuck this was so good!!! Shots of grass blowing in the wind have never been more engaging!!! That mask is one of the best special effects in any movie!! Instant tension!!! Nobuko Otowa giving a HELL of a performance!! Horny!! Titties!!! Like watching a group of miserable and tortured souls march through the gates of Hell!! An all timer in my book!!

Brief Encounter 1945
Oh so this is one of those movies EVERY movie rips off? Got it. Feels like it should be exhausting with the framing device of her narrating, but the writing is so elegant and her facial performance during those quiet moments is devastating. Beautiful film.

Kerr is blowing Grant out of the water and Grant is giving a delightful performance. Kerr is simply divine. Really want to rip my eyes out when the kids sing, but aside from that this is a lovely movie.
