James Healey’s review published on Letterboxd:
Wow, just gonna make the decision now because I really doubt any film will change my mind. Bone Tomahawk is the MOST underrated film of 2015. At the time of writing, this is only playing at one theater in NYC and has just over 600 Letterboxd logs. These are legitimately upsetting facts.
Despite the western genre being pretty dead these days, every once in awhile we're lucky and get a gem like Bone Tomahawk. This film is a slow burn but doesn't drag at all. The film feels brutal but once you reach the last 40 minutes, brutal becomes an understatement as Bone Tomahawk becomes a strange Western Horror hybrid. Performances are great from the entire cast, there's no single stand out because they're all great. Although I must say, Kurt Russell really looks the part so much.
I don't really have much else to say because I think the best experience is to go in pretty much blind. I don't care how you do it just see this film please.
