I adored this film! My friends and I have been waiting for this one since the early awards buzz. Despite a brief run in with the law (!) we had a great time.

Timothée Chalamet is absolutely the one to beat in the best actor category this year. He embodies the character of Elio completely, showing both deep maturity and youthful instability. Michael Stuhlbarg also gave an incredible performance playing Elio’s intellectual father. The talk he has with Elio towards the end is one of the greatest scenes I’ve seen in a while.

I thought Armie Hammer was quite good as Oliver although I struggle to see how he is convincingly playing a 24 year old.

I really have no complaints. In a world of dumpster movies please see the sweet and tender beauty that is Call Me By Your Name.
