Not as bad as I expected, but nowhere near a Universal classic. It’s really a shame they cut all of Bela’s dialogue as the monster because the movie really makes little sense without it. If you are familiar with what happened in Ghost of Frankenstein you can piece together what was supposed to be going on, but the scene cuts put a stop to any chance of making it work as a continuation. One of the better example I’ve seen of a zoo-centric horror movie (that is a comical sentence to type out). Understandably limited in what it can show, but tries it best to give us the exotic animal killings we came to see! Unfortunately the finale wasn’t as fun as I was hoping.

Michael Gough is satisfyingly sinister as our villain, so there isn’t a lot to groan about.

I just watched this for a third time in less than a week. I do not do that. I am a Kombat shill.

I can point out a million criticisms if I wanted, but the fact remains I find myself willingly coming back to this and having fun with each viewing. That in itself speaks volumes to me about how I actually feel about this movie. Not pretending this is anything more than it is. Just such a good time.
