Went into the cinematheque scared I was going to need a piss during the first 15 minutes but it seems like even my bladder was totally engaged.
Has that upbeat rhythm typical of Scorsese going though a lot of the establishing sequences but eventually evolves into this slow, deeply somber character study which really makes I HEARD YOU PAINT HOUSES stand out from his other crime pieces.
