Jamie Carrick’s review published on Letterboxd:
CAROL is a heart-rending masterpiece. Led by two of the decade's finest performances by Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara, Todd Haynes' magnum opus delves into the achingly gorgeous world of Therese Belivet and Carol Aird, and how their lives become intertwined forever. Edward Lachman's masterful cinematography portraits their lives beautifully, while Carter Burwell's best score to date swells around the frames like a beating heart. Dripping with a luscious melancholia, CAROL is the one of the best films of the century and one of the greatest cinematic achievements of all time.
