Jamie Summers’s review published on Letterboxd:
I feel like I’ve been missing out on a classic for 30 years.
Whoopi Goldberg and Oprah are sensational in this film of a black woman horrible journey of abuse from child to adult in search of happiness. And that dinner table scene?
That said, I am glad his is the 1st time I’ve ever seen it, because I would have spent the last 30 years wanting to punch Danny Glover.
The ending has me in tears.
Tears that only Spielberg can produce.
