  • Arctic

Not a big fan of these man Vs nature films. Watched mads mikkelsen have a bit of a shit holiday on the Arctic for about 2 hours. I'd rather watch Bear Grylls do something of the sort, at least he lightens the mood a bit by drinking his own piss.

  • The Laundromat

    The Laundromat

Pretty impressive effort of wasting a star-studded cast on a very weak big-short rip-off. Sure, the Panama papers are not the same as the banking crisis but the approach taken by soderbergh is a clear attempt to mimic mckay's interpretation of the corruption in the financial world. The one thing the laundromat does manage to do, is remind me of the sad and miserable world of corporate greed, a cancer that is far from being eradicated and hopes of it ever taking a turn for the better are thinning.

    2001: A Space Odyssey

Brilliant, just brilliant. No need for long dialogues, just incredible images made half a century ago with none of the modern day CGI. Add a philosophically relevant storyline and I am sold, absolute gem of a movie

    The Dead Don't Die

This is the dead don't die, by Sturgill Simpson. That's a great song.

This movie did need a bit more in terms of story and depth of the characters to earn a glaring review. Adam Driver and Bill Murray where at times hilariously boring and cynical, but there is little to be said about their performance apart from the nice little exchanges in the car. Would recommend this as a light and breezy watch, but it stays very much on the surface and fails to thrill me.
