Finished reading Macbeth yesterday and so I decided to watch this, seeing that it has been on my watchlist since 2016, and, honestly, this couldn't have been a sexier adaptation of such a masterful text. This is how you transpose a dramatic text into something gorgeously and flawlessly cinematic. Shakespeare would have been proud. Also, Fassbender couldn't have been a more perfect Macbeth.
Everything in this film exudes such sexiness, the precise and minutious directing, the slick cinematography, the intricate screenplay, and Daddy Mifune's effortlessly captivating acting, everything is masterfully orchestrated by Daddy Kurosawa to create a suspenseful and thought-provoking analysis on capitalism and class divisions that are as pertinent today as they were in 1963.
Also, do I get y'all's permission to marry Toshiro Mifune? Thanks.
