Didn't love everything but the first two thirds of the movie are pretty great. Malek's villain is underdeveloped and we never really get a proper explanation of why he wants to do the bad stuff. Ana de Armas' Paloma is another highlight of the film, as are some of the action sequences. A really flat ending though and the third act is a mess. Lashana Lynch's female 007, while a fantastic idea on paper, isn't executed well on screen at all.

2 and a half stars but an enjoyable two and a half stars. Plenty of writing issues with this film but it's hard to say I didn't have an entertaining time watching it.

That opening speech over black is incredible in cadence and delivery, and it is so effective at…
