I really can't understand how some people hate this movie. I think some people look at it too politically and others just might not have a heart. La La Land is going to be looked back at in 20 to 30 years as one of the greatest movies ever made. With this movie, Chazelle cemented his reputation as a fantastic director. Following up Whiplash was always going to be difficult for Chazelle but this is even better. Both are very different movies that treat music differently, but both are fantastic.
I really can't wait for First Man. If Chazelle can go 3 for 3 (not counting Guy and Madeline because he was so limited), he'll cement his legacy as a great director. I think La La Land is close to breaking into my top 5 of all time at this stage.
