Not perfect but definitely awesome. Zack Snyder’s best movie remains DAWN OF THE DEAD, but his revisiting the zombie genre proves highly enjoyable and inspired. I was also pleasantly surprised that this is far from a standard-issue zombie movie and the zombies are far from standard-issue zombies, even though it retains a healthy, socially-conscious influence and satirical edge from George Romero.
Fun, weird, truly crazy in a lot of ways, full of entertaining characters, and packed with sights I’ve never seen before. Also, what a prologue!!! Looking forward to catching it again on Netflix!
