Shane Black's viciously funny dark comedy/noir thriller is, like DIE HARD and LETHAL WEAPON before it (two other screenplays he wrote), also an entertainingly subversive Christmas movie.
There are a few slight lulls, but for the most part, KISS KISS BANG BANG is fast, clever, unpredictable, and features terrific performances by Robert Downey, Jr., Val Kilmer, and Michelle Monaghan.
