Doubles down on the race politix/deification through trials/vietnam up-river Kurtz madness/nolanization bleakness but even through how ~deeply~ serious it takes itself, i found myself totally utterly enthralled by it and never once began to even consider the runtime.
a few bits felt longer than what they shouldve, a few bits felt shorter, but all in all, this is easily the most enjoyable modern trilogy we have, with a handful of CGI characters i love more than any comic book hero.
Caesars pathos across this series is unbelievable. His preservation of his kind and hardened resolve that peace can win, slowly poisoned by sabotage and death is truly the definition of "epic" to me. So when we see that tear at the end, we all fucking feel it. His elemental aegis succeeded. His trials over. The absolute fucking King.
