    What an incredible film.

American Psycho, much like its main character, is a movie of two layers, both dealing with two interconnected evils. Murder, and capitalism.
We are introduced to Bateman and his yuppie associates with their outright misogynistic statements and obsession over their morning routines and business cards.
The first half of this movie, due to, and much like, Bateman's perfectly acted fake exterior, is hilarious and utterly quotable. It's penetrated mainstream meme culture. We get a razor sharp…

For me, this is Edgar Wright's best film. In fact, I'm replacing Heat with this on my top 4. Some of the reasons are just because it's plain amazing, but this movie also reaches to me personally in ways that most of my other favourite films don't.

The World's End is largely known for it's world-shattering genre shift. The movie begins with a dramedy about 5 old friends going to a bunch of pubs. It ends as a science-fiction action…

Solid finale apart from that godawful "hello there" moment.

Not really just that he says it but the way it completely ruins the impact of a scene, how he just approaches Luke and he's totally not concerned a stranger is approaching him. Then after the fanservice the scene just cuts because this shitty moment was tacked on.

Rest of it is good though, could've been great. Should've been great for something like this.

(Also, seeing this in a huge crowd in the BFI IMAX was the best cinema experience I've ever had. Not just because of the movie, but because we collectively were cheering, crying, roaring, laughing, screaming together. The power of cinema(tm) baby.)

I've got a LOT of stuff to say. Lots of great. Plenty of criticism. But my god this film has a certain energy, grandiosity, epicness that feels very unique to itself and I had a phenomenal time in the cinema.
