There are so many things I could talk about and dive into with this but honestly I don't really want to. It's simply beautiful, and too good for any words I could possibly muster.

This was so much more emotionally intense than I could have ever imagined. Like a PTA film with more mumblecore elements, and a lot more sex. Larry Clark fuckin wishes he could pull this shit. John Cameron Mitchell's style is so dense and heartwrenching and incredibly unique, I just hope his other two hold up as well. Wonderful stuff. I must say I am immensey drained after this double-feature lmao.

A wonderful life-affirming display of fluid sexuality and sex working. One of the most beautifully shot films I've ever seen, the colours just scream out of the screen, and the way it hangs on faces and body parts is simply perfect. I had a strong feeling that Andy Warhol's work would improve after his shooting, as he hands the reigns over to Paul Morrissey while he oversees and conceptualises everything, and my suspicions were correct here and hopefully for the rest of their works. Absolutely love this.

The Cremaster Cycle: A Conversation with Matthew Barney

    ★★

Some middling interesting things raised but again Barney mostly seems as confused by his own work as I am. I didn't really see this expecting for an explanation whatsoever, just some moderate insight into how and why it was made. Kinda got something like that, but I guess it's just interesting to hear him talk about his work. I totally wanna see these again sometime though, maybe in numerical order the next time around, and try draw out some kind of interpretation lol

I wrote a short film inspired by Her and Punch-Drunk Love with the intent to hopefully make it for college this year. If you're interested then please give it a read and let me know what you think. Any opinions and criticisms will be great appreciated ❤️
