It’s tradition at this point to see the new Christian Petzold film at SFF whenever he’s got a new movie on the line-up. This one was a bit mid as far as Petzold goes—it definitely isn’t on the level of Phoenix, Transit and Barbara—but I don’t know if he can make a BAD movie. It just didn’t hit me emotionally or leave me thinking as much as his best work.
