Yeah it's bad. I've always known it's bad. Everyone is just terrible in it (except Hartman), and yet I will watch it every year. No notes. 4 stars no question

I think there's about 3-4 jokes in here that I would say are battling it out for the best joke of the year.
Watched this in the morning today and it's just sticking with me. I can't wait to watch again.

A movie I very excitedly will tell my parents to watch.
On paper this is a story we can figure out a mile away, but it's the little flourishes, the time period, and especially the performances from all three leads that elevate this to one of the best of the year.
Dominic Sessa is a newcomer?? Wowza. Very interested in where goes from here.

Ryan Gosling can do more with a bathroom stall door than most actors can do with Shakespeare.
In a different universe, they made at least one more of these with a cast that included Robert Downey Jr as a 70s reporter, James Cromwell as one of Holland or Jackson's fathers, and heck why not, someone who could play a 20 year old Gay Perry.
