  • Solo: A Star Wars Story

    Solo: A Star Wars Story

You expect a certain amount of charm when you’re about to see a movie about Han Solo. The plot twist was that both Han Solo and his buddy Lando was outcharmed by a bitter droid played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

  • One of These Days

    One of These Days

A great concept well executed with charming actors. We get to spend a lot of time with these characters but the movie never took the opportunity to deepen the them or advance the character development. It felt like the movie wanted too much to be read in subtext but there wasn’t enough actual text to get there.

  • The Trial of the Chicago 7

The Trial of the Chicago 7

I like all the actors. And i like all the acting. But almost all the actors has played so iconic roles in their carrier that it was hard to see them as anything but their previous roles.

Really liked the credits part where you saw the actors in acting action while their names where displayed. Felt very old school. Would love to see them look into the camera Beverly Hills style.

  • The New Mutants

    The New Mutants

New Mutants heavily references (and aspires to be as great as) masterpieces like the Hush episode of Buffy, the Tara/Willow relationship in Buffy and even high concept movies like Cabin in the Woods.

But the fact that you get reminded of these great works makes it painfully obvious why this movie doesn’t work. The characters are flat (they don’t have layers like Cordelia in Buffy :P), the dialog is 80% unnecessary exposition, it’s not scary and kind of derivative.

  • Mulan

Looked like an expensive commercial for oled screens or something.

  • Bert's Diary

    Bert's Diary

This was way too awkward for my taste. And Bert is not a sympathetic character. Totally hormone driven and zero reflection on his actions. Maybe that is accurate teen behavior. The actor playing Bert had an unfavorable job making this character sympathetic but I think he was charming enough to pull it off.

The experience watching the movie was positively tainted by my 9 year old company that squealed and laughed throughout the movie. She thought it was 5 out of 5.

John Was Trying to Contact Aliens

Very cute little doc. Would’ve loved to see the last part explored a bit more.

  • Tenet

Didn’t understand anything when I saw the first trailer. Still don’t. Still love it.

This would be a really cool Bond movie. The protagonist is both cheeky and classy when in a pinch (temporal or not). The villain is both over the top evil and russian. Awesome action pieces set in Europe.

  • Boys State

    Boys State

I would like to think most teenagers are the worst and that they will grow up one day. But we have leaders in the world constantly proving that they are not grown up. So maybe this is how the world is run at this point. Yay!

  • Cry-Baby

I have seen this movie so many times. This was the first time i noticed that Willem Dafoe was in it.

  • Welcome Home

    Welcome Home

Feeling bad for the actors in this movie. The dialogue was borderline The Room cringy. Why is there police on the poster? Is there cut material that the poster is based on xD
