Sorcerer ★★★★

"We're carrying three cases each. One is enough to blow out your fire, six cases will blow out the whole field. That means you don't think all the trucks will make it, one of us is a backup."- Scanlon

William Friedkin's Sorcerer is a solid remake of The Wages of Fear. Unfortunately it makes the same mistake as the original by taking far too long to get going. In fact this one takes even longer and yet the characters don't feel as defined. When the real adventure sets in it only gets better. There is some great tension in the latter half. The rope bridge scene was particularly impressive and had me at the edge of my seat. Overall Sorcerer isn't as good as The Wages of Fear, but it's not too far off. 7.5/10
