The Panic in Needle Park

The Panic in Needle Park ★★★

The Panic in Needle Park was Al Pacino's second film. Really it was his first, because in his actual first film he has less than a minute of screen time. In this one he is front and center. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Pacino of the 70's was the greatest actor of all time if you ask me. He proves that once again in this film by giving a wonderful performance. Kitty Winn is also very good and they do a good job together. The film shows the relationship between their characters and how it is affected by their drug addictions. The film is pretty well made, but the whole drug angle wasn't as powerful as I had hoped. (Requiem for a Dream and Candy are better examples of that). Overall The Panic in Needle Park is a decent film that is worth watching just for Pacino. It's not too memorable though. 6.5/10
