I watch movies on occasion and am using this site to regain atrophied writing skills.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I'm surprised it took the Halloween franchise nearly 30 years before someone used the word "retard" in a clearly derogatory way. A kid at the beginning calls L'il Myers a "faggot" too, another first, but at least that was in context of that kid being an asshole. The "retard" quip is legitimately just out of nowhere derogatory and makes me not like either of the women who said it. Good job Rob Zombie, you've really shown your skills with this…
Man, remember thin eyebrows? This movie remembers. Everything else sucked, I did enjoy Busta Rhymes but he was in it too long. Also, TERRIBLE END for Laurie, that was the worst part. And then I guess that one girl has visions of Myers? Why? Stupid and dumb. Bad. Bad. Bad. Sorry Katee Sachhoff (sp), you will do better things soon.
Simple, yet effective. A few strange choices (Does nobody turn on lights in this place?) and a psychologist deus ex machina that kind of steals Laurie's agency at the end, but otherwise a great film, and Myers is a great slasher villain. Special shout out to William Shatner for the excellent mask.
After watching all the Friday the 13th movies in a row, this was like watching Citizen Kane. Very enjoyable, Freddy is a great villain, and the dream sequences and fucking BLOOD GEYSER just seal the deal. Yeah it's corny and campy but that's the whole point. BLOOD GEYSER, people!
