Josh Couch’s review published on Letterboxd :
Dark and grim throughout with very few, if any, moments of hope. You Were Never Really Here dives straight in to heavy themes of mental illness, trafficking, and violence and never strays away.
Joaquin Phoenix gives a POWERHOUSE of a performance in one of his best roles to date. This man is one of the greatest working actors out there.
Lynne Ramsey has crafted such a dark but beautiful film and I look forward to her work in the future.
