Jesse Catherine Webber’s review published on Letterboxd:
Still feels like Serra is going over my head a bit but Magimel is magnetic and it's far less punishing than The Death of Louis XIV.
Remembered all the Lynch comparisons from Cannes towards the end and I get it but it they feel somewhat silly. Of course the American director I thought of most frequently was Richard Kelly which is probably even sillier. Don't get too excited - Serra never goes nearly as gonzo - but his brand of surrealism feels more of a piece with Kelly than Lynch. Think more The Box than Southland Tales. Either comparison suggests more awareness than that of whichever loser behind me mentioned Miami Vice while the credits rolled.
