From the opening second of its runtime, Francis Ford Coppola's Youth Without Youth blurs the lines of reality by distorting imagery of time and love using dreamlike visuals. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring 2001
As always, this movie feels like a flex, a miracle, and an astounding achievement all at once. Like just look at the brilliant helicopter establishing shots - shifting between miniatures, vfx, and I think some matte paintings? Whatever it is, it's seemless. "I'm not broken... and I'm not alone"
It might be just recency bias, but maybe the best display of courageous heroism in a comic book movie since the Raimi Spider-Man trilogy. Where Batman v Superman was about being able to pull out hope through darkness, Zack Snyder's Justice League is about that hope and optimism shining through once it's found.
