J.D. Funari’s review published on Letterboxd:
For the first two acts, I'd have comfortably called Andrei Tarkovsky's Stalker a mesmerizing masterpiece. From the awe-inspiring camerawork, to the eerie world building, to the damaged characters, it was utterly gripping, slowly revealing its secrets in a most fascinating manner. Watching made me wonder how much better Inception would have been had it not explained itself to death every step of the way.
The third act is murky for me. Symbolism overtook plot progression and I was left puzzled as to what the takeaway should be. It's still a tremendous film in many ways but I wish I found the denouement more digestible.
