TL;DR - each month in 2023 watch two silent films available in the public domain.
My Progress: 0/26
I was reading this article featuring some of the new books and films coming into the public domain in 2023 and, then, specifically this "Saving Silent Films" section which describes how many of the silent films are already in the public domain now, and it reminded me how much I like watching silent films, as well as how much I like the public domain and free digital cultural artifacts.

So I am going to do a little silent film challenge - try to watch two silent films each month in 2023. Many will be new to me, but some can be rewatches and maybe some I'll share with my kids as well.
Part of the challenge is that the film will have to be found available in the public domain. - I will need to be able to obtain a digital copy of it and add it to my collection at no cost or illegality.
Two silent-adjacent bonuses will round it out to 26: - I want to rewatch that documentary about the missing films found in the Yukon (edit: it is called Dawson City: Frozen Time), and The Jazz Singer as the first talkie, which is coming into the public domain this year. (Babylon and re-watches of Singin' in the Rain and Sunset Boulevard might also be in order as part of this...)
