Jean Snow’s review published on Letterboxd:
I feel like I enjoyed this movie more during the end credits -- with the extended puppet montage -- than I did while watching it. I wouldn't say it's not good, but there was just something that didn't really work for me -- or maybe it's the art setting that I didn't like. I also kinda feel like the what they do to continue the idea of the "Candyman" is a bit awkward -- although I do like that this is not a reboot, and does continue the previous films (at least the first one). I liked the inclusion of the Virginia Madsen recording. I'd say I liked it fine, but not as much as I was hoping (based on the initial announcement and trailer).
