  • Clue

One of my favorite screw-ball comedies, Clue has a great balance of comedy and mystery, with some crime & thriller too. With great performances, especially Tim Curry, and many memorable lines, I find it very rewatchable. I first saw it as a teen, so there’s an added nostalgia factor for me, but if you haven’t seen it yet, I recommend it highly.

  • Swingers

This movie doesn’t get old. It’s one of our favorites with lots of quotable lines. It feels like the real LA in a way that most other films don’t capture. Great performances by the leads Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn. Heather Graham is also good in her limited role.

  • John Wick

    John Wick

If you’re a fan of crime or action films, you NEED to see this film. IMHO, it redefines the genre. It starts slow and builds to an incredible crescendo, all the while methodically building a whole world that these characters inhabit. The director is a former stuntman, turned stunt coordinator/director who previously worked with Keanu in the Matrix films. The cinematography and direction is framed around the fighting scenes in a way I’ve never seen before. The whole John Wick series is great, I highly recommend them.

Granted, I’ve only seen 3 so far, but this is the best Stanley Kubrick film I’ve seen. It is a top 5 dark comedy in my opinion. Peter Sellers is incredible in his roles.
