A real life thing that people actually do taken to absurd and physically impossible extremes, a cocky protagonist whose goal is to be the very best and does so by breaking all the rules, unintended homoeroticism, rivals, the power of friendship, a series of side characters with cool nicknames and one word personality traits, a random beach scene for no reason, everything takes place in a school, and now character’s children can be recognized by having similar hairstyles, . . . Top Gun is just American anime!

Thoughts:
This is by far my favorite of the big three slasher franchises. It's definitely chock full of 80's cheese and the acting is pretty questionable (my wife hated Nancy's acting SO MUCH!) but it's still a stone cold classic of the era and I think rightfully so.
