• Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Still the best part of the MCU, and really the only part of it that I get at all excited about.

Still a lot of fun, still some great large actions scenes, still pretty hilarious, and even get's pretty emotional by the end.

  • Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates

Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates

All four main leads are normally pretty great, but I feel like this movie didn't give them anything to do. Seems like the only notes they got was, be sexy and or an asshole.

I was hoping for more with the cast, but there is really nothing here. Sure a funny moment here or there, but not worth sitting through the whole thing for.

  • Suicide Squad

    Suicide Squad

People kept going on about how the last minute re-editing ruined this, but the writing was terrible, no editing could fix that.

It almost had a fun feel, so close, but still had the DC grime. They seemed to spend a long time on some characters intros and then all of a sudden wham here are some other main characters that have maybe a one line Intro.

And pretty much zero setup on the bad guy conflict, just on here's a thing that could bad to the whole city is disserted and destroyed. What the shirt?

  • Split

I never thought I'd say this, but I kinda love the idea of the M. Night Cinematic Universe.

McAvoy is great in this, he definitely elevates this movie, but it really was good. I think M. Night has maybe finally figured out his stride.

  • xXx: Return of Xander Cage

    xXx: Return of Xander Cage

This series NEEDS to merge with Fast and Furious!

  • The Fate of the Furious

    The Fate of the Furious

If they don't eventually go to space it's going to be a fucking shame.
I'm glad that they are sticking with the if they could possibly do something more ridiculous, they go for it. Superhero car drivers! Only way these movies are fun.

Do think the conflict in this one was especially dumb, and dragged quite a bit, but once the ridiculousness hit I forgot about how I was supposed to care what was going on.

The "hacker battle" was especially cringe worthy.

  • Warcraft

They are trying to do way to much in this and rushing all of it. I even played a lot of various Warcraft games as a kid and I only vaguely had an idea what was going on or who people were supposed to be.

I hear they cut an hour out for the theatrical cut, sure that may have helped, but this was already feeling too long. Maybe not try to set all of it up in movie one.

  • The Rambler

    The Rambler

There is a whole lot going on in this, all of it fucked up, and all of it so great.

Also I kept thinking the main guy was Thomas Jane, and then I kept being sad that it wasn't Thomas Jame. Damn he would have been good in this. Not to take anything away from the actual main guy.

  • Independence Day: Resurgence

    Independence Day: Resurgence

This was so rushed. Like I remember pretty much all of the big scenes that were also from the first one, but the original also has some time to calm the fuck down and then just enjoy the rest more.

This seemed like a movie made by someone that heard that people liked Independence Day, but had no understanding of why.

I guess there were lots of explosions. And aliens being killed.

  • Ghost in the Shell

    Ghost in the Shell

This was gorgeous, and the score was great, had very much a Tron Legacy feel to it.

After that it just felt too long, and I really didn't really care about the characters. The non aesthetics just seemed generic and really didn't try to say anything.

    But my was it pretty.

  • A Boy and His Dog

    A Boy and His Dog

I've lived most of my life thinking I've seen this movie. Even in conversations with people about it, agreeing with them, thinking I knew what I was talking about. It wasn't until I was at The Royal Cinema the other week and they showed a trailer for it and I thought, "weird. That doesn't look familiar." Finally decided I should watch it and see

What I leaned was I definitely had never seen this movie, but, I stand by agreeing…

  • The Devils

    The Devils

I will say I was really worried about watching this, mostly because it's so highly regarded at Eyesore, what would I do if I didn't like it? Of course I shouldn't have worried and know if it was highly regarded there that means something. This is a great movie.

It really wasn't was I was expecting, not really sure what I was expecting but not an epic like this.

It is very 70s in terms of nudity and sexuality,…
