L'Âge d'Or

L'Âge d'Or ★★★

Gaston Modot going out of his way to kick and punch everything and everybody he sees is what I believe the kids call “A Big Mood.”

Shout out to director Albert Serra who rambled out a bizarre, semi informative, and totally scattered introduction to this at NYFF, which ended in him dissing all current popular movies and directors (“I won’t name names, but even some here at these screens”) saying they are all nobodies in the grand scheme of things, unlike Dali and Bunuel.
