Jennifer’s review published on Letterboxd:
What we're told we want (by society, family, friends, and partners) and what we really want are two very different things. Belle de Jour understands this well and relishes in exploring these differences and the various shades of desire. And Catherine Deneuve is really marvelous as this beautiful but indecipherable shadow of a woman who is unable to find both emotional and physical fulfillment in the same source. Rating would be higher but the film moves at too slow a pace and the characters lack real depth.
P.S. The best thing about being back home is having access to TCM again.
