BlacKkKlansman ★★★★

"America would never elect somebody like David Duke."

But we did. And we already had, many times. America was founded by people like David Duke.

It's hard to discuss this film without focusing on its social relevance, but even without context, it's so fulfilling. Much of it plays like a Spike Lee version of Inglourious Basterds. Though it takes place in the 70s, it speaks loudly for the world we live in today.

So many other reviews mention the ending, which cannot be overstated—it is a complete kick in the face, and possibly the single most important act of Spike Lee's pioneering career.

This film is a huge "fuck you" to Trump and all his monstrous supporters. But of course, they're never going to watch it.
