A really fun time. Maybe too fun for its own good.
The first act resembled a modernized mixture of Virgin Suicides and Dazed and Confused, but that feeling's abruptly lost after a turning point that I still don't fully understand. And its characterizations are too faint to make its breezy omniscience work as well as it does in something like Dazed and Confused.
But still, a really fun time. So many painfully awkwardly funny moments, à la Eighth Grade. Loved the lush, springtime palette, often complemented by great shot composition. I'm not even sure what decade this was taking place in, and I love that.
I wish I could watch every film with the cast and crew in attendance. The energy was so great, hardly any moments without laughter somewhere.
