Jeremy Heilman’s review published on Letterboxd :
The inexhaustibility of cinematic texts seems to be the real topic at hand here, relayed both in the obsessive takes on The Shining and Ascher's YouTube-era editorial strategy, which improbably drags everything from Bava's Demons films to a Keep America Beautiful PSA into the mix. Meaning is defined (distorted?) by context, time and again. As such, authorial intent is both Room 237's reason for being (Kubrick surely must have planned everything!) and anathema to its aims. A reminder that when we go to the movie theater we're doing as much projecting as the projector.
